From 12pm - 5pm
The Northboro Holiday Trolley has become a festive tradition in town since 2005. The trolley runs from one end of town to the other stopping at various businesses to encourage folks to shop local and help them "get into the spirit of the season". Many of the businesses offer events, special discounts, holiday fare, etc. Additionally, there are stops at various churches and the library where other events are featured. The spirit of the day is encouraged with the help of elves and musicians on the trolleys. There is also a television onboard where ads from various businesses are displayed.
As you travel the town on the trolley, collect raffle tickets at each participating store you visit. Raffle tickets are entered to win a number of really great prizes from local merchants like restaurant gift cards, store gift cards, toys for the kids, gift baskets and more. All raffle tickets can be brought to the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:00 PM and turned in at the Northboro Trolley table.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Blake St at 5:00 pm with caroling and light refreshments. The annual tree lighting began in 1968 in honor of the memory of Neil Ellsworth, an Army Pfc., who was killed in Vietnam in 1967 at the age of 19. Born and raised in Northboro, Ellsworth was the first town resident to die in the Vietnam War. Every year the town of Northboro and the Ellsworth family light the tree in memory of this fallen hero.
Please join us for a fun filled day of holiday cheer and local business support.
